Dr. William Travis Engel is a dedicated husband, father, and trusted pediatrician with deep roots in our community. With children currently enrolled in the public school system and as a proud graduate of public schools himself, he understands firsthand the vital role our schools play in shaping strong, successful communities. Dr. Engel brings a wealth of leadership experience, currently serving on multiple boards and committees at the local, state, and national levels.

As a pediatrician, he sees every day how critical it is to support the academic success and well-being of all students, especially the most vulnerable. He is committed to ensuring our district provides the services and support needed to help every child thrive academically. Dr. Engel also values the important role extracurricular activities play in the social and emotional development of growing children and believes these opportunities must be preserved and expanded. With his background in medicine, leadership, and public education, Dr. Engel is ready to bring a thoughtful, informed voice to the Bedford County School Board.

Dr. Engel’s campaign is primarily self-funded and supported by the kind donations he has received from families living in the area. The only special interest he represents is the children and parents of the Forest community and Bedford County.
